Louise M. Malmstadt
Louise M. Malmstadt, 87,
of West Allis passed away Saturday, Sept. 18. Born Aug. 31, 1918 in Coleman
she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry (Emma Laurent) Martens.
She graduated from St.
Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in 1939 and married Don Malmstadt in 1942.
After World War II they settled in Milwaukee and then moved to West Allis
in 1953. She continued her nursing career into the 1970's working at St. Mary's
Columbia and West Allis Memorial, specializing in maternity care.
Survivors include six
sons, Mike (Deanna), Larry (Toni), Bill (Jeanne), Kip (Jodi), Tom (Lori) and
Bud (Peggy) and a daughter, Patti; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren,
two sisters, Mrs. Dan (Pat) Waselchuk of Appleton and Mrs. Richard (Mary)
Ziemer of Coleman; three brothers, Don (Fern) Martens and Tom (Joyce) Martens
of Green Bay and Larry (Rita) Martens of Abrams; nieces, nephews and many
other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death
by her husband of 53 years, Don in 1995; a son, John in 2003; two brothers,
Lenny Martens, and Frank Martens and three sisters, Mrs. Ron (Denise) Frank,
Mrs. Bob (Evelyn) Bachhuber and Maxine (Sr. Mary Steven).
Mass of Christian Burial
was held Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. at St. Rita Church, S. 60th and W.
Lincoln Avenue, West Allis. Interment was at Highland Memorial Park, West
Allis.
Schaff Funeral Home, West
Allis assisted the family.
