SIMONO
Gerard (Gelard) M. Simono, 59, of 814 25th Street, Two Rivers, employed at Hamilton Mft. Co., Two Rivers, and a former president of the Two Rivers Fire and Police Commission, died unexpectedly en route to Two Rivers Municipal Hospital Two Rivers work early Monday afternoon.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. Earl Broucheul officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Simono was born August 28, 1912 in Coleman WI to the late Ben and Florence Martens Simono. When he was a child, the family brought him to Two Rivers. He married Katherine Beaton at St. Luke's Church February 21, 1939. Since 1939 he had been an employee of the Hamilton Firm. He was treasurer of Metal Ware Credit Union and former member of the Two Rivers Municipal Hospital, and St. Luke's Holy Name Society besides his service on the Fire and Police Commission.

Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Pitzak of Summerville SC., Mrs. Dennis (Mary) Swoboda of Grand Forks, ND and Miss Bette Simono at home; three sons, Jerry of Madison, Thomas of Manitowoc and James of Arlington Height, IL. Three brothers, Hubert, Bernard and Claude of Two Rivers and seven grandchildren. Two brothers and a grand-daughter preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Klein and Sangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers after 5 p.m. Tuesday where memorial services will be held at 7:45 p.m. The casket will remain closed.
