All the weavings on this page are a part of a series I was working on entitled "Psychological States of Womanhood", using the female figure, color, texture, as my vehicles. The same yarns are used for all the weavings in this series. Someday, I will have it finished.

Weaving
For a women to grow beyond herself, she must face the mental image she has of herself and resolve who she thought or thinks she is based on these past mental pictures. This can be a very rewarding or painful experience but a very necessary experience.
The Awakening is the stage I am currently in. I have gone to pieces, faced myself, sorted out the reality of myself and have now found this overwhelming sense of excitement at who I am and all that I still can become. The work is in progress as I am.
Frame Weavings - Believe it or not, both of these weavings are the same exact design - the Going to Pieces 1 was the first and when it was removed from the loom, it took on a form of it's own. So I learned from experience what to do help maintain the shape from loom to wall - of course, you can see that I still had to stretch the 2nd Going to pieces-so I am still learning. GOING TO PIECES depicts the state of womanhood, when all the roles you have assumed come into conflict and your SELF is fighting for existence. My art always has the solution within the design and the solution to this stage is at the top of the weaving - To Look Into Yourself - YOU are always there.
QUEST FOR WOMAN-HOOD: This piece reflects the past (dark figure), the "dream" state (the white figure) and the reality ( a composite of what we bring from the past and our dreams to what we truly become.)
