Mrs. Genevieve Marsh
of 208 First Street South, announces the marriage of her daughter, Ms
Mary Jeanne of Oakland, Calif., to Ralph Bonjay Rooper, of the U.S. Navy,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Rooper, of Antelope, Ore. The wedding took
place Wednesday, December 22, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oakland,
Calif., with the Rev. Fr. J. Connally officiating.
Mrs. Ruth Hobday, formerly
of Virginia and now of Oakland was matron of honor and George Jacobson of
Minneapolis, shipmate of the bridegroom, acted as best man.
Mrs. Rooper is a graduate
of the Virginia High School and has been employed in Oakland. Her husband,
gunner's mate third class, has been with the Navy for two years and has
taken part in five major battles. He returns this week to active duty.
Mrs. Rooper will reside in Oakland.
