MARTENS RITES WILL BE
CONDUCTED FRIDAY
DE PERE - the funeral
of Miss Gertrude Martens, who passed away Tuesday afternoon in a Green
Bay hospital, will be held Friday morning. Requiem mass will be said at
9 o'clock in St. Francis' Church and burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
The body of Miss Martens is at the home of her brother, August Martens,
214 N. Huron Street. The rosary will be said at 8:30 tonight by the Altar
society of her parish.
Gertrude Martens, 67
Gertrude Martens,
age 67, died at St. Vincent's hospital Tuesday afternoon after a long
illness. Born in De Pere on March 6, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Martens, she made her home here until three years ago when she took up
her abode at the McCormick home. Funeral services will be held Friday
morning at nine o'clock from St. Francis church with interment in Mt.
Olivet cemetery.
Survivors are two brothers,
August, De Pere, and Martin of Vera Cruz, CA; and one sister, Mrs. Frank
Wanniger, (Frances), of Kewaunee WI. The body was taken from the Schumerth
Undertaking Parlors to the August Martens' residence, 214 N. Huron street,
and the Altar society of St. Francis congregation will recite the rosary
there Thursday evening at 8:30.
The Third Order will
recite the rosary at the Martens' home this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock.
Pallbearers will be
George Crabb, Martin Janssen, Pat Gage, John McCabe, Oscar Selsmeyer and
Joseph LeMay. |
